Why “King of my castle?” Because our children are so imaginative and creative, every child’s mind is a castle where he/she, whether we like it or not, rules! We intend to develop a project which enhances not only our children knowledge, but different types of intelligence, knowing that children are “smart” in their own ways. Based on Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory, we will try to tackle each one of them, creating a large set of activities. Using the real castles we’ll try to “strengthen” the castles of their minds.

Our main interests in developing this project are Multiple Intelligences and 21st Century Skills. Following Bloom’s taxonomy, the project’s aims are divided into: • Cognitive Students will: • Learn important issues of famous castles in participating countries. • Develop their awareness of geographical as well as historical features of the partner countries. • Improve their ICT and English language skills. • Affective Students will: • Develop their interpersonal skills through the communication with their partners. • Show a positive disposition towards the introduction of the European dimension within the school setting. • Psychomotor Students will: •Develop their artistic skills and talents.
The work process will be planned on 6 months, the topics for every month will be: - real castles in each country presentations, along with their natural surroundings(natural smart) - stories about castles, jumbled ones, unfinished or even fictional( language smart) - mathematical problems related to castles ( dimensions, age, number of rooms...) (maths and logical smart) exchanged and solved by partner students. - best draw or model of a castle( kinesthetic and spatial smart), contest where children will comment and vote their partners’ works of art( social smart). -songs related to castles, recorded by our children or searched by them on youtube( musical smart) -games, quizzes, puzzles(self smart).
A blog where we post our work results every month and exchange new methods and tools for learning. An e-guide of castles in participating countries. An e-booklet of stories, plays, poems, song's lyrics inspired by castles. A wallwisher for children to develop their social smart during the whole project
